Little Sugar trail system’s “Modelo Loop” is a favorite among local riders for many reasons.  It is a moderate trail that can be ridden by most cyclists with an average skill level.  That said, there are optional lines available that will keep adrenaline junkies interested.  The loop features some protracted climbs; but that means riders’ efforts will be rewarded with long & steep descents.  Get your inner shredder ready for some blitzkrieg descents, if you want to push it.  Rounding out the ride is a great “swimming hole” location to soak in a cool spring-fed stream on those hot summer days.  The ride should take no more than 2 hours for average riders.

Note: A detour might be required after waypoint 13 at Tanyard Creek. Please follow the signs. If you detour, the tour will automatically resume when you rejoin Tunnel Vision trail near waypoint 32. 

Tunnel Vision is the longest loop around the outside of the new Little Sugar trail system. It is part of the 40 mile network of trails on the west side of Bella Vista. The trail will take you through bluffs along Sugar Creek and to a waterfall on Tanyard Creek, about 5 miles into this ride, as it wraps its way around Windsor and Avalon Lakes. 

Expect plenty of switchbacks and berms, as well as more advanced features like drops and jumps that have been generously sprinkled in throughout the system. The tour will provide notice for most of them, along with some alternate lines and features just off the main trail. 

The lakes, creeks, waterfalls, caves, and other nooks and crannies found along the trail system give you an opportunity to connect with the natural beauty of the area that will make you forget you’re riding through the back yards of the Bella Vista POA. Be ready to use those climbing legs, too. The descents are a roller coaster, but you have to earn them. 

This route is difficult only because of its length, at 25 miles it requires some good endurance. There are several options to bail out and shorten the ride, but make sure you bring plenty of water and snacks so you don't need to do that. Be sure to stop and check out the Tanyard Creek waterfall about 5 miles into your ride.

5 Ilford Ln Bella Vista, AR 72715, United States

Down Under is a great intermediate loop with a higher than average amount of vertical climb compared to other routes in Oz. The trail features lots of tight berms and offers a connection to the much longer Tunnel Vision loop and only a few jumps. It's part of the new and expansive Little Sugar trail system and offers a great cross-country experience with fun flows, challenging climbs and some interesting tech sections. 

The tour features a great rock garden, berms for miles, several fast descents and we will even point out some really nice views. The trail holds up well in wet weather and can be ridden after rain, really even while it's raining.

Are you looking for trails that range from highlighting Arkansas’ natural terrain to 10 foot tall machine built berms and jumps?  This is the tour for you!  Riders at Blowing Springs will encounter rock drops, challenging technical rocks and roots, and feature laden flow trails.  It’s the locals’ “hidden gem!”

Many riders won't notice the most technical elements of Blowing Springs, because they lie on alternate paths that aren't as well-worn as the main trail.  This tour sticks mostly to the main trail and covers all of the trails within the park, as well as the trails that are adjacent to the Veteran’s Memorial Park.  

This tour is targeted toward intermediate and advanced riders.  Beginners can ride most of the trails, but they may want to walk a few of the  more technical spots.   

If you’re looking for another tour to add to this roughly 12 mile route, the “South Back 40 (With Jump Lines)” tour starts from the north end of this park, where you will see the “Back 40 Loop” Signs.  You can download and ride it if you’re looking for 10 more fun-packed miles!

This tour covers the most popular trails on the west side of the Slaughter Pen System.  Some of the highlights include “Jessie’s Last Stand,” “Berm Creek,” “Tristan’s Trail,” and the ever-improving and morphing Skills Park.  

Riding everything once adds up to about 7.5 miles in length, but we think you will want to repeat some of the flow trails a few times.  That will push the distance up closer to the 10-12 mile range, depending on how many times you choose to re-ride sections.  It’s definitely a full ride!  

We suggest you consider piggy-backing this tour with the “Slaughter Pen Highlights - East” tour, so you can experience the other can’t-miss trails in this unique urban trail system!

Curtis, NE Third St, Bentonville, United States, 72712

Be prepared for a bit of everything on this 25 mile advanced route!  We’ve cooked up the best parts of the Back 40, and added a dash of the local “old school” favorite, Blowing Springs Park, to create a Buffet of some of Bella Vista’s best trails!  

This tour features terrain ranging from smooth shreddable singletrack, flow trail sections with small to medium size jumps and drops, a little tech sprinkled in, and even narrow exposed rock ledges on the Back 40 system’s signature trail, “The Ledges.”  

If you’re a rider who likes a good old fashioned long trail ride that offers a bit everything, this is a solid pick!

This tour takes you up Sidewinder, Boise’s signature single-track trail, and down flow-y Freestone Ridge, with a final grunt up Military Connector before an easy descent back to your starting point at Camel’s Back Park. Most climbing will be under 10% grade, with a few short stretches in double digits and a max of 23% to test your legs.

The Winged Deer trail system was created in 2016 by a partnership between the City of Johnson City and SORBA Tri-Cities. Almost the whole trail system was volunteer built. It was officially finished in 2022 with the completion of Kidds Dreamline. It now has 7 trails and comes to a total of almost 5 miles. These trails are a mixture of smooth flow to techy rocks and just about everything in between. It's one of the most popular trail systems in the Tri-Cities with users ranging from kids on striders to seasoned veterans!

“Corrals Loop: An Old-School Ride” is a 9-mile route that combines moderate climbs with a fast, technical descent. Starting on Corrals Loop, you’ll get a steady climb through classic Boise terrain, leading up to the main event: Bob’s Trail.

Bob’s Trail is where this ride gets real. Expect river crossings, berms, and rock gardens that offer a solid challenge without being overwhelming. The descent is quick—about 9 to 10 minutes—and delivers the kind of straightforward, old-school riding that made these trails a local favorite.

The Table Rock Old Pen Trail is well-known for its scenic vistas and local historical significance, and attracts riders seeking both adventure and a glimpse into the area's past. The ride begins near the Old Idaho Penitentiary, an institution that housed prisoners from 1872 until 1973.

Spanning approximately 7 miles , the Old Pen Trail is rated as moderately challenging, making it suitable for intermediate riders while still offering enough to keep experienced bikers engaged. The trail is predominantly singletrack, weaving through rugged terrain that requires some technical skill over rocky paths and occasional loose sections. Riders can expect a mix of short, steep climbs and descents that require careful handling and a good level of fitness.

East End, E Old Penitentiary Rd, Boise, United States, 83712

This one has it all…XC, small to medium jumps and drops, and even a fast flow trail section.  There’s a reason locals call it “Happy Hour.”  It’s good for a face-full of smiles.

You'll start in the Blowing Springs Arboretum heading East on the Back 40, continuing on to Mulligan and Rago before returning to the starting point. Check out our Blowing Springs Loop tour also which adds a 4 mile loop from the parking area—this tour starts at the midpoint of that one. You can do both in one ride, you'll just have to end the other tour and start this one.

There are 4 fun jump lines and a few nice features on this intermediate ride. All of the jumps, drops and features have ride arounds and several segments are set up great to session the jumps. This tour offers some great jumps for leveling up from small to medium jumps if you are ready to go a little bigger.

This is a 7 mile tour that starts very near the downtown square, and covers all three phases of the Slaughter Pen Trail System.  It provides a great overview of the trail system.  The tour is on all green (beginner) rated trails, but don’t be fooled as there is something for everyone on this tour, as it includes a tourist and local favorite, “Tristan’s Trail!” 

You will encounter berms, rollers, and some small optional jumps, but everything has a prominently visible “go around” line should just prefer to keep your wheels on the ground. You will experience ups and downs on mild grades, pass multiple outdoor art exhibits, flowing creeks, and encounter an eclectic mix of both urban and natural scenery.  You’re even likely to see wildlife!  

This is a versatile tour that serves not only as a great beginner level and an overview, but it is also excellent as a fitness building or “active recovery” ride for seasoned riders, who may also choose to send the optional features!  

Get ready for some fun on this one!

Peña Adobe Park is more than just a pit stop, it’s the front door to some of the most scenic and historic riding in Vacaville. This tour connects the best of what the park and Lagoon Valley have to offer: smooth singletrack, wide-open views, and just enough climbing to make you feel like you earned your post-ride burrito.

Along the way, you’ll hear stories about the Peña family who helped settle this region, Vacaville’s roots as a road trip waypoint between San Francisco and Sacramento, and a few tips on what to check out downtown when the ride’s done.

This loop is ideal for intermediate riders looking to explore the park without having to constantly check a map. With TrailPilot’s audio guidance and insider commentary, you can just ride and enjoy.

Oakcreek, Butcher Rd, Vacaville, United States, 95687

This 9 mile loop features narrow and chunky cross country style riding with a great mix of mellow climbs and fun descents. The tour includes a trip to the downhill hub and a preview of the 7 downhill lines in that section. You can check out the renovated one-room school house, take a look at the uber-difficult Zone 4 trail and see some fun trail-side art.

Take a breezy spin through the heart of Vacaville on this 6-mile, all-levels ride that blends greenway paths with low-traffic roads. Perfect for casual riders, visiting families, or locals looking to rediscover their hometown, this route highlights everything that makes Vacaville shine—from charming Main Street to peaceful parks and hidden gems only the locals know.

While this ride is family-friendly and doable for young riders, it does include short stretches of road riding. We recommend only bringing kids who are confident riding alongside cars in low-speed areas.

This blue and black “back woods” loop gives you a true taste of Steele Creek’s best. Expect a mix of climbing, ridge cruising, and some fast, technical descents. You’ll encounter rocky sections, rooty stretches, and a blend of singletrack with wider, old-school trail corridors.

It’s a little bit of everything; flow, tech, and the kind of rugged terrain that makes Steele Creek a local favorite.

Oh no!  It’s wet and sloppy out there!  You’re in luck!  Here is a great “high lines” loop that will keep the mud at bay, and deliver some good XC trail shred, while still getting to ride and check some of the best that Slaughter Pen has to offer.


So whether it poured the night before, or it’s raining right now but you still want to get out there, this is the ride for you!

“The Ledges” is the signature trail of the Back 40, and it’s the focus of this roughly 13 mile tour.  It is a black diamond trail requiring high intermediate to advanced skill. It incorporates some of every required skill for the avid mountain biker.  Jumps (no gaps…small roll-able tabletops), berms, technical rocks, bike handling in narrow spaces, and some great flow!

The black diamond rating is mainly earned by a stretch where riders will experience a few short sections of exposure off one side of the trail.  Those areas can be walked if heights bother you.  It has so many great parts besides the narrow rock ledges, that even if you hike-a-bike for a total of about 50 yards to avoid the mild exposure, it’s well worth it to experience the unique riding surface!  

Most of this ride is a mixture of blue rated flowing singletrack, with a few mild technical rock challenges along the way, including the very short alternate black diamond line “What the Chuck?” to add some spice!     


RECOMMENDED:  Reinforced sidewall tires, and please have what you need to repair a puncture and a flat tire due to sharp rock in places.  

NOTE:  If you are deathly afraid of heights, this trail is likely not for you.

This ride will let you explore a number of trails in and near the Military Reserve area of the Ridge to Rivers trail system. You’ll climb your way up to my favorite trail, Watchman and then descend back down to the Military Reserve. 

There are two options to shorten this ride to either 9 or 14 miles. I’ll you know when you get to the waypoints where you would need to turn to do this and what you need to do. 

These trails are usually good to ride from mid-March through October, but please check the trail condition page in the Ridge to Rivers site before heading out. The ride is almost entirely on trails where e-bikes and pedal assist bikes are prohibited.

Here is my take on the perfect ride that the whole family will enjoy, no matter what age or skill level. This tour takes you through 5.7 miles of green rated single track in Military Reserve and the foothills overlooking Boise. The climbs are relatively gentle, and any challenging sections and features are clearly called out in advance, ensuring a safe ride with no bad surprises. Enjoy this fun adventure with stunning views!

The Ponds Loop, Boise, United States, 83702

This route on the Back 40 is rideable even after a heavy rain. It drains well, the soil composition supports wet riding and it provides a good cross-country loop without risking trail damage.

The tour will guide you through the turns and segments that are hard to piece together just looking at a map. The guidance also offers insight into some history, local flair and trivia in addition to helping alert you to features and other trail elements.

There are an abundance of scenic trails in the Northwest Arkansas area, and this tour takes you to a few of the more memorable ones.  This 13 mile loop includes sections of all three Bella Vista Trail Systems for one big combined scenic XC Loop.  

You’ll ride under interesting limestone bluff lines, along picturesque creeks, over a waterfall, and through rolling wooded terrain.

This is where Bays shows its teeth, offering a true test of skill while keeping things rideable and rewarding from start to finish.

If you know your way around a bike and want the best the park has to offer, this is your loop. No fluff, just the good stuff.

Experience the best of Bays Mountain Park on this lower-intermediate ride that gives you all the flow, but none of the “Oh S**” moments.

We’ll be riding the parks lower side today which takes you on some fantastic trails through a beautiful forested environment.

This is a great after work ride or if you’re looking for a great intermediate route to experience the park!

Welcome to Devil’s Den, the birthplace of mountain biking in Arkansas!  If you’re looking for trails with trail building that’s closer to art that you can ride, that is going to create memories, your search is over.  

This is an intermediate route that covers the newest Monument Trails, with a smattering of the older original trails in places.  The below-bluff line riding is unique with keyholes, narrow passages, and tall bluffs over 75’ high.  Oh, and did we mention that you ride behind two waterfalls??  

Be sure you stop and smell the roses along the way on this 12 mile adventure!

Welcome to Coler Mountain Bike Preserve! During this tour, riders will experience our paved greenway, undulating singletrack, the majestic Paradise Found Barn at the Homestead, Airship Cafe, and we will even take a trip to The Hub! 

While we won’t hit any technical trails on this tour, it’s important to know that Coler has something for everyone! Our 21 miles of Singletrack and Flow trail provides a well rounded experience with jumps, drops, rocks, flow, gravity, rollers, and everything in between.

This tour is geared towards the beginner rider who is visiting Coler for the first time. Beginners can ride all of these trails, while taking in the beautiful sights at Coler. For the downhill segment on Fireline, riders should be comfortable with berms and tabletop jumps that can be rolled but have relatively steep faces. Approximately 50% of this tour takes you on paved trails.
